Cleansing the Gunk of Winter

This poem was inspired by the rain on the window panes, the dirty snowbanks outside the windows, and Val F's comment on Faceboook that "the rain washes the gunk away."

Spring Cleaning

gray sky

gray snow

gray mood

rain

pattering

pattering

dripping wetness

washing winter gunk from my windows

washing winter tired from my soul

peaceful sound

soothing

soothing

I wake to spring

I wake to joy

clean windows

on my house

and in my heart
